We built the marketplace we wanted to use.
FreelySeat started from frustration. We watched friends pay $180 for a $100 ticket, saw sellers walk away with $70 after “fees,” and knew there had to be a better way.
The problem with ticketing
Every major ticketing platform takes between 20–30% in fees. They call them service fees, facility fees, delivery fees — but it's all the same thing. Money that goes to the platform, not the seller.
Buyers pay more than they should. Sellers receive less than they deserve. And the platforms pocket the difference while doing nothing that a 1% processing fee wouldn't cover.
Our model
We charge zero service fees. A small processing fee covers our card processing costs. That's it. We're not looking to build a revenue empire on top of your ticket sales.
