We built the marketplace we wanted to use.
FreelySeat started from frustration. We watched friends pay $180 for a $100 ticket, saw sellers walk away with $70 after “fees,” and knew there had to be a better way.
The problem with ticketing
Every major ticketing platform takes between 20–30% in fees. They call them service fees, facility fees, delivery fees — but it's all the same thing. Money that goes to the platform, not the seller.
Buyers pay more than they should. Sellers receive less than they deserve. And the platforms pocket the difference while doing nothing that a small processing fee wouldn't cover.
Our model
Sellers pay one low flat 10% seller fee — a fraction of what StubHub and the rest take. Buyers pay one honest all-in price, shown up front, with no junk fees added at checkout. That fee is how we keep the lights on — and it's far less than the 20–30% the big platforms skim. No revenue empire built on top of your ticket sales.
